Pierre Saffi is an independent photography studio based in Cape Town, working on editorial portraits, documentary series and cultural event coverage. This page explains what personal data is collected when you visit this website, contact me about a commission, or send an enquiry through the contact form.
I keep data collection to the minimum needed to respond to your message, discuss a potential project, and manage the practical side of a photography commission. I do not sell personal information, and I do not use it for advertising.
When you use the contact page, I receive the details you enter: your name, email address, phone number if you choose to provide it, and the content of your message. This information is used solely to reply to your enquiry and to discuss the specifics of a potential portrait session, documentary project or editorial collaboration.
I may also collect technical data automatically, such as your browser type, device information and approximate location, but only in aggregate form through analytics tools. This helps me understand which pages are useful and how visitors navigate the portfolio.
This site uses a small number of cookies to remember basic preferences and to collect anonymised analytics about page views and visitor behaviour. These cookies do not identify you personally and are not used to build a profile about you.
You can disable cookies in your browser settings at any time. Doing so will not affect your ability to browse the portfolio or to contact me through the form.
The information you submit through the contact form is used only for the purpose you initiated: answering your question, preparing a quote for a shoot, or coordinating a project. I do not add you to any mailing list without your explicit consent.
Enquiry messages are stored in my email account and, in some cases, in a simple project file if we move forward with a commission. I keep correspondence for as long as needed to complete the project and to comply with basic record-keeping obligations, after which it is deleted.
Photographs delivered as part of a commission are stored on secure drives for backup purposes. Client names and project details are not shared publicly unless separate written permission is given for portfolio use.
This website is hosted by a third-party provider, which processes technical data such as IP addresses and server logs to keep the site running securely. Analytics data is processed by a separate analytics service. These providers act as data processors and do not use your information for their own purposes.
I do not share your personal data with any other third parties, except where required by law or where you have given clear consent.
You have the right to request access to the personal data I hold about you, to ask for corrections if something is inaccurate, and to request deletion of your data where there is no legitimate reason to keep it. You may also withdraw any consent you have given at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, or if you have a question about how your data is handled, contact me using the details below. I will respond within a reasonable timeframe, typically within 30 days.
This website does not make misleading claims about services, results or affiliations. I do not fabricate testimonials, endorsements or project outcomes. Any portfolio work shown is genuine work I have produced, and any client references are shared only with permission.
I do not create fake urgency, false scarcity or misleading offers. If you see something on this site that appears inaccurate or unclear, please let me know so I can correct it.
